The Gurugram police arrested a man, accused of stealing cars from wedding functions. The accused posed as a valet parking driver to get the keys from guests who came to attend the event. A stolen car has also been recovered from the accused.

According to the police, on March 1, a man filed a complaint with the Palam Vihar police station, claiming someone had stolen his car from Notting Hills Banquet Hall, Gurugram. The police registered a case.

While investigating, a team of crime unit, sector 17 arrested an accused from IFFCO Chowk on Thursday. He was identified as Sachin, alias Sanam, a resident of Rajokari village in Delhi.

“During interrogation, the accused revealed that he is a habitual offender. He stole the car from the Notting Hills Banquet Hall parking lot in Gurugram by posing as a parking attendant after taking the car keys. Five cases of theft are registered against him in Gurugram, five cases under the Arms Act and theft in Delhi, and one case in Sonipat. We are questioning the accused,” said a spokesperson of the Gurugram police.
