Haryana Govt to review Gurugram civic body developmental works
The Haryana Government has scheduled a meeting, to be held at Chandigarh on January 29, for reviewing sanitation issues, developmental works and next financial year’s budget estimates for the Gurugram Municipal Corporation.
This review is being conducted in light of the forthcoming civic body elections.
The focus will be on ensuring better civic amenities and addressing key urban challenges in Gurugram, often referred to as the millennium city. Urban Local Bodies Department Secretary Vikas Gupta will preside over the meeting to review the estimates of the annual budget of the MC for the next financial year.
The state government will also review sanitation efforts of the civic body under the Solid Waste Environment Exigency Programme (SWEEP), implemented in June 2024 under Section 22 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
Other agendas of the meeting include the streamlining and expanding door-to-door waste collection services, progress in achieving 100 per cent updation of property ID certificates, addressing issues related to properties in Lal Dora areas, measures taken to manage and rehabilitate stray animals to ensure public safety, development works being carried out in newly approved colonies and a focusing on building roads, drainage systems and other essential infrastructure.
