A Delhi resident with a long criminal record died under suspicious circumstances after being shot near the Kherki Daula toll plaza on NH-48 late Tuesday evening. The 16-case history-sheeter, identified as Manoj Ojha, drove himself to the toll plaza in a Bolero car, stopping near an ambulance and requesting immediate assistance to reach a hospital.

He was rushed in the toll ambulance to Medanta Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Police recovered two pistols, two magazines, and 26 cartridges from his vehicle.

Authorities have placed Ojha’s body in the mortuary and informed his family. Gurugram police spokespersons confirmed that teams from Kherki Daula police station and the Manesar crime unit are investigating whether he was murdered or shot in another incident.

Inspector Krishan Kumar, SHO of Kherki Daula police station, said, “We are investigating in which police station area the shooting occurred.”
