A woman died after being hit by a “chota hathi” (mini-truck) on March 8 near Azadpur Balaji tower in the national capital, the police said on Sunday.

The police said: “On March 8, a PCR call was received regarding the accident at the Adarsh Nagar police station.”

After getting information, the IO, along with other officials, reached the spot. Upon reaching the location, the police found that the injured woman had been shifted to BJRM Hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

The deceased has been identified as Pooja Devi (37), a resident of Balaswa Dairy. Her body has been shifted to the mortuary for post-mortem examination.

Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle, identified as Abhishek (27) from Govindpuri here, was detained by the public and brought to the police station.
