Outer-North District of the Delhi Police on Tuesday bagged the award for “Best Police Unit” in enforcement of Intellectual Property (IP) category, recognising its outstanding work in tackling IP infringement and counterfeit networks.
Piyush Goyal, Union Cabinet Minister for Commerce & Industry, gave away the award, certificate and a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh during an event at Bharat Mandapam here.
Outer-North District has carried out significant enforcement work in IP infringement cases, conducting multiple raids and seizures against counterfeit and infringing goods. Through sustained investigation and enforcement actions, the unit has successfully disrupted several illegal networks involved in the manufacturing and distribution of counterfeit products, a statement from Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outernorth) Hareshwar Swami read.
The Outer-North District Police remain committed to strengthening enforcement against IP crimes, protecting legitimate businesses and consumers, and ensuring strict legal action against those involved in counterfeiting and infringement activities, it further read.
