In Brief: 2 killed as bike, truck collide
New Delhi:Two people died and another was injured after a motorcycle collided with a truck in outer North Delhi early Sunday, the police said. Cops received a PCR call about the accident at 4.19 am. Upon receiving information, a team reached at the spot and found an abandoned motorcycle, officials said. The three people had already been taken to a nearby hospital, where Sanjay (20) was declared brought dead, while Subhash (26) was declared dead shortly after receiving treatment, a police officer said. Among the three, Akash (18), is undergoing treatment but is currently unable to speak due to his injuries, he added. The police said the three were returning from Murthal in Haryana on their motorcycle when the accident occurred. Preliminary investigations revealed that the bike collided with a truck at Mahadev Chowk. A case has been registered and CCTV camera footage from the route is being reviewed, police authorities said.
Rickshaw driver killed in hit&run
New Delhi: A 64-year-old e-rickshaw driver was killed in an alleged hit and run case in Delhi’s Dwarka on early Sunday, the police said. Police received a call at 8.56 am about the accident that occurred near Vishwas Park in Uttam Nagar. The victim, Indrajit Malik, was a resident of Vishwas Park area, a police officer said. An eyewitness informed the police that the offending vehicle was a white car, which fled immediately after the collision, he said. Upon reviewing traffic CCTV footage from the vicinity, two vehicles — a Hyundai Creta and a Tata Punch — have been identified as potential suspects, the officer said. A police team from the Dwarka South police station has been deployed to trace the offending car and apprehend the driver responsible for the hit-and-run, he said.
