New Delhi, February 15

Prayers and silent marches were held at several places in the national capital to offer tribute to the 40 CRPF martyrs and demanded a strong action against the perpetrators of Jaish-e-Mohammed.

Educational campuses and Jantar Mantar saw demonstrations condemning the brutal attack on a CRPF convoy, that led to the killing of 40 soldiers.

The JNU, which is still living under the shadows of an event held on the campus in support of the 2001 parliament attack convict Afzal Guru, expressed solidarity with martyred security personnel. Resident doctors at AIIMS also held a condolence meeting and doctors were seen holding posters declaring February 14 as a black day.

JNU Students' Union (JNUSU), supported by the university’s faculty association (JNUTA), on Friday held a candle march on the campus to express condolences to the grieving families of the soldiers.
