Kejriwal’s ‘poaching bid’ allegations baseless & absurd, says BJP leader
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva dismissed AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal’s allegations of BJP attempting to ‘poach’ his party candidates as “absurd” and “baseless”, claiming that Kejriwal’s remarks were a sign of the AAP’s growing desperation ahead of the Delhi Assembly election results.
“The kind of allegations they are making is extremely absurd. Sensing their defeat in the elections, they have clearly lost their ‘mental balance’,” Sachdeva stated in response to the accusations.
Sachdeva criticised Kejriwal and the AAP for resorting to “cheap” politics, suggesting that such tactics would not work in their favour.
He said: “The kind of low-level politics you practice is not accepted by the people of Delhi. Your propaganda begins before every election — be it municipal or Lok Sabha. But the people of Delhi do not appreciate it.”
Terming the claims “ridiculous”, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, BJP MP from South Delhi, challenged AAP leaders to report the alleged offer of Rs 15 crore to the police. “If someone is offering them Rs 15 crore, then why are they not informing the police about it?” Bidhuri questioned, mocking the AAP’s claims of being targeted by the BJP.
Bidhuri went on to accuse the AAP of being in a state of panic, saying, “The AAP is losing the elections badly. It seems their mental balance has deteriorated even before their defeat. They are ready to sell themselves even before being elected as MLAs and have already decided their price themselves.”
He said the AAP’s tactics of spreading lies was a reflection of their desperation.
The BJP MP also criticised the AAP for making baseless allegations about attempts to “buy” their MLAs, despite the fact that election results had not been declared.
“As usual, Arvind Kejriwal, Sanjay Singh and other AAP leaders are not revealing the name of person who is calling them,” Bidhuri stated. He referred to previous similar allegations made by the AAP, pointing out that when the police investigated the allegations, Kejriwal and AAP leader Atishi failed to provide any substantial evidence.
“People are making a fun of these allegations. The way AAP leaders are behaving after sensing the defeat in the elections, it clearly shows that they are in a panic,” he said.
