A 22-year-old law student died after his car rammed into a stationary truck in the IP Estate area of Central Delhi early on Saturday morning. The deceased has been identified as Rudra Pratap Singh, a resident of Greater Noida.

According to police, the accident took place after Rudra’s car lost control over and rammed into a truck that had stopped due to flat tyre.

Passersby informed the police about the incident. The police reached the spot and pulled the student out of the mangled vehicle after much efforts. He was taken to Lok Nayak Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The police said the truck driver fled the spot after the accident. A case has been registered at the IP Estate police station and efforts were being made to trace the absconding driver. Both the vehicles have been seized. Officials are also scanning CCTV footage from the area to ascertain the sequence of events.

According to an official, Rudra Pratap lived with his family in Sector 19, Noida. His father, Naveen Kumar Singh, serves as an OSD with the Greater Noida Authority, while his mother Sadhna Singh is a homemaker.

Rudra was pursuing an LLB degree from OP Jindal College, Sonepat.
