Major administrative rejig in Delhi Police; 70 officers transferred

Several key operational wings also saw changes

A day before the festival of colours, a major administrative reshuffle involving the transfer and reallocation of responsibilities of nearly 70 senior and mid-level officers was carried out in Delhi Police.

The changes include postings at the level of Director General, Special Commissioner, Joint Commissioner, Additional Commissioner, and Deputy Commissioner of Police, reflecting a significant reorganisation of key operational, administrative and specialist units.

As per the orders, 1994-batch IPS officer Anand Mohan has been appointed as Director General (Prisons).

Senior IPS officer Virender Singh, from the 1991 batch, has been posted as Director General, Home Guards. Meanwhile, 1997-batch IPS officer Surender Singh has been appointed Director General, Civil Defence.

Among other senior appointments, S S Yadav has been posted as DG, Civil Defence, while S K Jain has been made Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Commissioner of Police.

Vijay Kumar will take charge as Joint Commissioner of Police, Southern Range.

Several key operational wings also saw changes. IPS officers Dheeraj Kumar and Abhishek Dhania have been posted to the Crime Branch, while Monica Bhardwaj has been assigned to the IFSO unit. S K Tyagi and Vijayanta Arya have been posted to the Traffic wing.

District-level postings include IPS Shashank Jaiswal as DCP Rohini, DCP Metro Kushal Pal will take charge as DCP Dwarka, R P Meena as DCP Shahdara, and DVP Outer Sachin Sharma as DCP New Delhi.

Specialised units have also been reshuffled. DCP South Ankit Chauhan has been posted to the Special Branch, DCP Dwarka Ankit Singh to Vigilance, and DCP Ravi Kumar Singh as Additional Commissioner of Police, Economic Offences Wing.
