According to officials, the vehicle, bearing an Uttar Pradesh registration number, rammed through Gate No. 2, commonly referred to as the VVIP gate, at around 2 pm.

The impact damaged the iron gate, allowing the car to enter the high-security complex.

Officials said the driver then proceeded towards the office of Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta and, in an unusual move, placed a flower bouquet near the porch area before quickly retreating from the premises.

Meanwhile, the police arrested three persons, including the driver, in North Delhi in connection with the incident. The accused had entered the premises wearing masks, officials said. The offending vehicle, a Tata Sierra, has also been seized.

The incident raised immediate security concerns, with authorities treating it as a potential breach of a sensitive zone.

Personnel from the Delhi Police, along with a bomb disposal squad, rushed to the spot to secure the area and conduct thorough checks. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was deployed at the gate to strengthen security in the aftermath of the breach.
