Malviya Nagar fire tragedy: Court sends Bajaj, Mishra to 12-day judicial custody
The fire, which broke out at Flourish stay B&B catering largely to foreign patients and their attendants, killed 22 people
A Delhi court on Wednesday sent Lavkesh Bajaj, the owner of the Malviya Nagar hotel, and Jay Mishra, the hotel’s accountant, to 12-day judicial custody after allowing the plea made by the Delhi Police.
The order was passed by Judge Bhanu Pratap Singh, who remanded both accused to judicial custody for the period sought by the investigating agency.
The court also issued directions regarding the medical care of Lavkesh Bajaj. Judge Singh instructed the Jail Supervisor to consider the medical prescription issued by a doctor and ensure that Bajaj is provided with all necessary medical treatment while in custody.
The case will now proceed in accordance with the ongoing judicial process.
