Man pushes elderly mother to death during domestic dispute

Accused in police net; investigation on

The police have arrested a 27-year-old man for allegedly killing his 60-year-old mother by pushing her to the floor during a domestic dispute in the Seemapuri area, officials said on Thursday.

The incident took place on Wednesday. The altercation began when the accused, Sher Ali, reportedly entered into a heated argument with his wife at his residence in New Seemapuri.

According to the police, his mother, Hamidun Nisha, intervened to pacify the situation. During the altercation, Ali allegedly pushed his mother with force, causing her to fall. She sustained a severe head injury.

The police said they received a PCR call regarding the incident, following which a team immediately rushed to the spot. The injured woman was shifted for medical assistance, but could not be saved.

Later, the woman’s daughter, Sabnam, gave a statement alleging that her brother had assaulted their mother during the quarrel, which resulted in her death.

Based on the complaint, the police registered a case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and initiated an investigation. The accused, who works as a tailor in Loni Ghaziabad, was apprehended shortly after the incident. Officials said the body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Preliminary findings suggest that the woman suffered a fatal head injury after being thrown to the ground during the altercation.
