Rohtak man nabbed for stealing jewellery in bus

The Gurugram police have arrested a man for allegedly stealing jewellery from a bag aboard a moving bus. One gold mangalsutra and a pair of gold earrings were recovered from his possession. An FIR was registered at the Sector 37 police station.

According to the complaint filed by a resident of Pune, he had travelled with his family to Bawal in Rewari district to attend a wedding. He stated that after boarding a bus from Delhi for Bawal, three men got on the bus at Rajiv Chowk in Gurugram.

When the bus reached near Narsinghpur Flyover, one of the accused allegedly began stealing jewellery from a jewellery box kept inside his bag.

“At the same time, my daughter, who was sitting nearby, noticed the theft and raised an alarm. The three men immediately got off the bus and tried to flee. However, one of them was apprehended while the other two managed to escape,” the complainant stated.

Following the complaint, the police registered an FIR and arrested the accused.

A senior police officer said the accused has been identified as Bijendra alias Munna, a resident of Balamb village in Rohtak district.
