MCD’s Karol Bagh Zone gets ISO certification for sanitation, civic services

According to the civic body, the certification recognises the zone’s efforts in maintaining cleanliness standards, improving operational efficiency and adopting sustainable urban management practices.

MCD Commissioner Sanjeev Khirwar congratulated the Deputy Commissioner, sanitation staff, field teams and residents for contributing to the achievement. He said the certification reflected the zone’s commitment to quality public service delivery and strengthening civic infrastructure.

Officials said several initiatives undertaken by the Karol Bagh Zone helped secure the certification. These included mechanised road sweeping, dust-free road campaigns, scientific waste collection systems, regular desilting of drains, sanitation drives and continuous monitoring of civic operations.

The civic body said the measures had improved cleanliness and public health standards across the zone.

Karol Bagh Zone Deputy Commissioner Dilkhush Meena thanked officials, sanitation workers and residents for their cooperation and support. He said the certification would motivate the zone to continue working towards the goal of a cleaner Delhi.

The MCD has been undertaking multiple sanitation and waste-management initiatives across different zones as part of efforts to improve civic services in the national capital.
