Minister Ravinder Indraj participates in sports, anti-drug campaigns

Delhi Government’s Minister for Social Welfare and SC/ST/OBC Welfare, Ravinder Indraj Singh, on Sunday took part in a series of social, cultural and public awareness programmes across the city, reiterating the government’s commitment to youth empowerment and social harmony.

The minister began the day by attending the “Say Yes to Life, No to Drugs” pledge programme organised by the Anti Narcotics Task Force of Delhi Police in Shahdara district. MLAs and several social workers were present at the event. The programme was followed by the “Anuvrat Marathon 2026, Run for Unity, Say No to Drugs” campaign, aimed at encouraging young people to adopt a drug-free lifestyle.

Addressing participants, the minister said, “Guiding youth towards the right path and building a drug free society is our priority.”

He further stated that such awareness initiatives serve as a powerful medium for bringing positive change in society. Keeping youth away from substance abuse and inspiring them towards a healthy, disciplined life and nation building is a shared responsibility, he added.

Later, Ravinder Indraj Singh attended the inauguration of Shri Baba Tekan Gate constructed on the Chandpur Mod to Majra Dabas route in North-West Delhi. The gate was inaugurated by MP Yogendra Chandolia in the presence of public representatives and local residents.

The minister also participated in the Junior Under-20 fourth grand prize wrestling competition and community feast organised in Mungeshpur village.

Interacting with young athletes, he encouraged them to pursue sports with dedication. He remarked that sports instill discipline, energy and a positive direction in youth and play a vital role in building a healthy society.

In the evening, the minister joined a Holi Milan celebration, where he extended his greetings to citizens. He highlighted that the festival symbolises social harmony, brotherhood and mutual goodwill.

Summing up the day’s engagements, Ravinder Indraj Singh emphasised that for holistic societal development, continuous efforts are required in education, sports, social awareness and cultural unity. Building a drug free and empowered society remains the core objective of these efforts.
