Minor pregnant girl alleges sexual assault by stepfather

A man was arrested in Delhi’s Rohini district after his minor stepdaughter allegedly accused him of repeatedly sexually assaulting her over the past year, the police said on Thursday.

According to the police, a PCR call was received at the Begumpur police station on Wednesday about a minor girl being pregnant and blaming her stepfather for the same.

After getting information, women police personnel reached the spot and took the victim to a safe environment. During inquiry, the girl alleged that her stepfather, identified as Baljeet Singh, had been repeatedly forcing himself on her for nearly a year. As a result, she became pregnant.

The police said the victim was shifted to a hospital for medical examination. Doctors reportedly confirmed sexual assault and stated that the girl was approximately five-month pregnant.

Following the complaint, the police registered a case and launched a search operation to trace the accused. Baljeet was subsequently apprehended.
