NEW DELHI:A man killed a five-year-old boy in the Kapashera area yesterday, said a police official.

New Delhi, January 16

A man killed a five-year-old boy in the Kapashera area yesterday, said a police official. The boy, Yuvan Singh, was the son of his girlfriend friend, Rani, who had left him with the accused to be looked after as she has gone for a job interview.

To cover up the incident, the accused, Narender, took the child to the hospital where he told doctors that the boy has eaten some sweets after which he fell ill and lost his life. But when the doctors conducted the post-mortem it came out that the boy was beaten to death.

Child’s father, Surya Pratap Singh (35), a resident of Allahabad, married Rani in 2013 after which they had a son, Yuvan.

Rani, a school teacher, came close to Narender, who was working in the same school. Due to this, the relationship got sore between Singh and Rani. After which, Rani took her son Yuvan and started living with Narender separately. Later when Rani lost her job, one day she decided to go for an interview to get a job and left Yuvan with Narender alone.

While Narender was teaching Yuvan, he on some mistake lost his temper and banged Yuvan on the floor and killed him.

Doctors informed the police about the incident. The police took Narender under custody, however, he has denied the allegation.

A case has been registered against Narender and Rani.
