The exhibition will see producers, processors, exporters, importers, packaging firms and technology providers from regions such as the United States, South America, the Middle East, Europe, Central Asia and Australia.

NDFC India, a non-profit body working to promote the nuts, dates and dry fruits sector, said the platform aims to link Indian producers and processors with international buyers and promote the consumption of these products.

Announcing the event, NDFC India President Gunjan Vijay Jain said MEWA has evolved into a meeting point for trade, nutrition and policy discussions.

“MEWA India 2026 will [be] spotlighting heart health, diabetes prevention, child nutrition, smart snacking and portion guidance through expert panels and public-health conversations,” he said.

In September 2025, the Centre reduced Goods and Services Tax (GST) on most nuts and dry fruits from 12 per cent to 5 per cent, as part of its “NextGenGST” initiative.

NDFC India Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Col Nitin Sehgal (retd) said MEWA will focus on linking farmers and farmer producer organisations (FPO’s) with processors and global buyers.

The event will host forums for women-led enterprises, reflecting their significant role in sorting, grading and packaging activities in the sector.

MEWA India 2026 will feature chef demonstrations, health expert interactions and retail discussions. The MEWA Premier League cricket match, a community event, will be held on January 22.
