Odisha Parba sees heavy footfall on last day

New Delhi, March 11

Odisha Parba 2018 — a three-day extravaganza celebrating the state’s rich cultural heritage and its illustrious past — came to a close today here after witnessing a heavy footfall of over two lakh visitors according to the organisers.

The valedictory ceremony was graced by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh at the India Gate lawns where the south-eastern state and its cultural ethos came all alive over the past three days.

Organised by Odia Samaj, the event on its final day, started with enthralling fusion by Paika Nacha and Bagha Nacha dancers and Odissi renditions by Padma Shri Aruna Mohanty leaving the crowd mesmerised. “The mega event saw an overwhelming response with over two lakh visitors this time,” said the orgnanisers.

The second edition had it all to enthral the visitors, starting from the handloom products like Sambalpuri Behrampur and Kotpad sarees, traditional paintings (patachitra) Pipili applique (chandua) work, etc. – TNS
