Out-of-control Thar rams into car in Gurugram, close shave for occupants

An out-of-control Thar rammed into an Alto car in the Shivaji Nagar area on Saturday afternoon. The impact was so severe that the car was completely crushed from the front. The car’s occupants, who were trapped inside, had a narrow escape. They were pulled out by people after great effort.

The Thar driver tried to flee after the incident, but could not succeed as a wheel was damaged due to the impact.

It is alleged that instead of admitting to his mistake, the Thar driver threatened the car driver. The SUV had tinted windows and also bore the Haryana Police logo on the windshield.

After getting information, a police team from Shivaji Nagar police station reached the spot and took the Thar into custody.

A senior police officer said a case is being registered based on the car driver’s complaint.

According to car driver Vikas Kumar, he was on way from home from his workplace after getting his vehicle serviced. He had stopped on the roadside near the government school in Shivaji Nagar when a Thar emerged from an inner road.

As the SUV’s driver accelerated, he lost control over the vehicle and it collided with Alto.

The car was completely damaged, while a wheels of the Thar was also broken.

A senior police officer said both parties were called to the police station. Action will be taken as per the law.
