Delhi Minister and Bawana MLA Ravinder Indraj Singh on Sunday inaugurated a newly constructed Phirni Road in Dariyapur Kalan, a long-pending project aimed at improving connectivity and infrastructure in the rural belt of outer Delhi.

Built at an estimated cost of Rs 5.73 crore, the road connects the Dada Maldev Talab side to Nangal Mor Road in Bawana, providing a smoother and more direct route for residents. The project, executed under the Delhi Village Development Board (DVDB) fund with support from the Irrigation and Flood Control Department, had been pending for nearly two decades.

Officials said the completion of the road is expected to benefit thousands of residents by reducing travel time, easing traffic movement and enhancing access between villages and nearby urban centres.

Residents of Dariyapur and adjoining areas said the project addresses a long-standing demand, noting that the region had remained on the margins of development for years. They added that ongoing infrastructure works are now bringing visible improvements in living conditions.

Speaking at the inauguration, Singh said the development of rural areas remains a priority and emphasised that strengthening connectivity is the key to overall progress. He added that more such projects would be undertaken to ensure better infrastructure and basic amenities in villages.

The project is part of the government’s broader push to improve rural infrastructure and advance the vision of “Viksit Delhi, Harit Delhi”.
