Court imposes Rs 2.10-lakh fine on 54-year-old convict

The Court of Additional Sessions Judge Purushottam Kumar on Wednesday sentenced a 54-year-old psycho killer to life imprisonment for kidnapping and murdering a woman in 2022. The accused had killed six persons, including three minors, in Faridabad.

According to the police, a woman of Bhupani alleged that her 20-year-old niece went missing. She filed a missing person’s report at the Faridabad old police station. The police registered a case under the relevant section on January 2, 2022. During investigation, the remains of the missing woman were recovered on January 6.

The police arrested the accused, identified as Singh Raj of Jasana village in Faridabad, on January 7. During interrogation, the accused confessed to killing the woman and dumping her body on the banks of the Agra Canal.

In the shocking revelation, the accused also confessed to killing six persons, including three minors. He was produced before a court, which sent him to judicial custody. On March 30, the police filed a chargesheet against the accused in the court in the case of the woman’s murder after adding sections of the SC/ST Act in the FIR.

“During the trial, 29 witnesses testified. The Faridabad police represented and supported the prosecution. After hearing all parties, the Court of Additional Sessions Judge Purushottam Kumar held him guilty on Tuesday and sentenced him to life imprisonment today. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 2.10 lakh on him. Other cases are pending in the courts,” said a spokesperson for the Faridabad police.

Singh Raj, who worked as a security guard at a private hospital in Sector 16, came under police suspicion during the investigation of other missing person cases. During interrogation, his involvement in five additional murders came to light, including the killing of three minor girls. It was also revealed that he had killed his uncle and cousin.

During interrogation, Singh Raj had confessed to killing three minor girls. In 2019, he molested the daughter of a tea vendor and killed her when she resisted. In August 2020, he killed a 12-year-old girl working in the hospital for resisting molestation. In June 2021, he murdered another minor girl employed as a cleaner in the hospital under similar circumstances.
