Rival gang member arrested for firing at Lawrence Bishnoi’s lawyer

Delhi Police’s North District has arrested an associate of Rohit Godara for allegedly planning and carrying out a shooting targeting Deepak Khatri, counsel for jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, officials said on Tuesday.
According to the police, the accused was both the planner and one of the shooters in the attack, which took place last Tuesday near Kashmiri Gate.
Five persons were travelling in a vehicle when unidentified assailants opened fire.
One of the occupants sustained a bullet injury to the shoulder and was rushed to hospital. The police said the injured person is stable and out of danger.
An FIR was registered at Kashmiri Gate Police Station under Sections 109(1) (attempt to murder) and 3(5) (criminal conspiracy) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with relevant provisions of the Arms Act.
Further investigation is under way to identify other suspects involved in the attack.
