New Delhi, December 11

The government has ordered an inquiry in connection with a question in a law exam paper asking whether a Muslim slaughtering a cow in the presence of Hindus amounts to an offence even as Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University said it has set up a committee to look into the matter within 10 days.

Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has directed the Higher Education Secretary to submit the report within five days. The question drew outrage after it was posted on Twitter by a SC lawyer Bilal Anwar on December 9. He said, “Here is a new normal, De-humanising an entire community, A Law College at Narela, NCR's Third Semester Question Paper... Is this what you are making the young legal minds to feel normal about? categorically referring communities in your question papers?” - TNS
