Six jump from second floor after house catches fire in Delhi

Six people jumped from the second floor of a house in Nangloi's Janata Market area in west Delhi in an attempt to escape a fire.

A Delhi Fire Services (DFS) official said the blaze broke out at 9:45 pm in domestic articles on the first and second floors, prompting a swift response from firefighters.

The six injured were identified as Pranjal (19), Preeti (40), Pankaj (40), Panav (18), Vaibhav (13), and Sweta (20).

When firefighters arrived at the scene in Janata Market in Nangloi, they found a building engulfed in flames and discovered that six people had already jumped from the second floor in a desperate attempt to save their lives.

A video, confirmed by the Fire Department, showed people falling from the building as locals stood on the road, assisting the injured and trying to catch them.

All the injured were immediately rushed to Pushpanjali hospital.

The fire brigade extinguished the flames by 11 pm. While the cause of the blaze is yet to be determined, the DFS official confirmed that the fire originated in domestic articles on the first and second floors of the house.
