Six-year-old girl dies, grandma injured as e-rickshaw overturns at Delhi's Janakpuri area

A six-year-old girl died while her 57-year-old grandmother sustained injuries after an e-rickshaw in which they were travelling overturned following a collision with a car in the Janakpuri area in Delhi, the police said on Thursday.
They said car driver, identified as Sanjeev, a resident of Majra Daabs village, was bound down.
The police said they received a PCR call from Mata Chanan Devi Hospital, Janakpuri, stating that two accident victims were brought to the hospital on Tuesday morning.
The girl and her maternal grandmother, Mercy Xavier, were later shifted to Max Hospital, Dwarka, owing to their critical condition, an official said. The girl succumbed to her injuries during treatment.
The woman told the police that she, along with her granddaughter, was travelling in e-rickshaw around 7:40 am on Tuesday. When they reached near the Janakpuri fire station, the e-rickshaw collided with a car and overturned. As a result, they suffered injuries, the police said.
The police said further investigation was on into the matter.
