Software engineer assaulted by wife’s family in Delhi's Nihal Vihar, dies
A software engineer, Vinay Gupta (31), died after he was allegedly assaulted by members of his wife’s family following a matrimonial dispute at his residence in Nihal Vihar, outer Delhi, on Friday, the police said.
A matrimonial dispute reportedly broke out between the couple in the morning. Following the quarrel, Gupta’s wife called her family members, who reached the couple’s residence in Nihal Vihar.
The wife’s family members allegedly assaulted Gupta severely. He sustained critical injuries in the assault and subsequently died.
The police are registering a case under Sections 103(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) in this regard. Four persons have been identified and detained for questioning. Further investigation is underway.
