The girls lived with their father, his two wives, and a sister-in-law, and Kumar had reportedly suffered heavy losses in share trading and was facing financial difficulties.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (Shalimar Garden) Atul Kumar Singh said police received information about the incident around 2.15 am. The flat falls under the jurisdiction of the Teela Mor police station.
“The three sisters did everything together from bathing, eating and sleeping to attending school,” Singh said.
The girls were rushed to a hospital in Loni by ambulance, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.
The police have initiated legal formalities and are investigating the circumstances that led to the incident.
A suicide note recovered from the spot read: “Mummy, papa, sorry. The game you wanted us to quit — now you will realise how much we loved it.”
Another line in Hindi stated: “Is diary me jo kuch bhi likha hai, woh sab padh lo kyunki yeh sab sach hai” (Read everything written in this diary because it is the truth).
According to cops, the family has five children — four daughters and a son. Kumar had married twice, and all family members, including his two wives, Sujata and Heena, lived together.
Kumar told reporters that his daughters were following tasks linked to a game before jumping from the balcony.
Quoting the suicide note, he said: “Papa, we cannot leave Korean. Korean is our life. Korean is everything to us. You cannot separate us from it. We will give up our lives.”
Calling the incident tragic, he appealed to parents to ensure their children do not become excessively attached to games.
The police said the girls were deeply obsessed with Korean culture, including Korean films, music and online games. Under the influence of these games, they reportedly portrayed themselves as Korean princesses.
The cop also mentioned that the sisters had stopped attending school for the past two to three years. The family’s background and economic situation are currently under investigation.
However, investigators said the case might be more complex than it initially appears. Kumar, a share-trading businessman, lived in the flat with his two wives and sister-in-law. The three deceased were biological sisters.
The police revealed that Kumar had reportedly lost around Rs 2 crore in share trading. As a result, the family’s financial condition had deteriorated. The flat was rented, and its electricity connection had reportedly been disconnected, investigators added.
