Reinforcing its zero-tolerance stance on corruption, the Delhi Government on Monday suspended the Sub-Registrar of Kapashera and the Tehsildar of Mehrauli following serious complaints of irregularities and misconduct. The action was taken on the directions of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who also ordered the cancellation of the licence of a deed writer posted in Kapashera.

According to officials, the action comes after persistent complaints from the public regarding corruption and obstruction in official work at the offices concerned. Emphasising strict accountability, the Chief Minister said officers dealing directly with citizens must discharge their duties with honesty, transparency and sensitivity.

“Any officer who indulges in corruption or becomes an obstacle in public service has no place in the system,” CM Rekha said, reiterating that the government would not tolerate misconduct at any level. She said the people of Delhi had reposed their trust in the government to ensure efficient governance and timely delivery of services, and that trust will not be compromised.

The Chief Minister said the suspension and cancellation of licence should serve as a warning to all officials.
