“When we designed the Delhi University Literature Festival, it was something completely new for us. But it turned out to be a successful event, and all of you made a huge contribution to that success story. We felt reassured because you were there,” he said.

The VC said the coordination between the NCC and NSS volunteers throughout the festival was commendable and reflected a strong spirit of teamwork and service. He added that both organisations help shape responsible and compassionate individuals.

“NCC and NSS work towards building strong minds. These organisations instil the values of service, compassion and dedication. They also help develop leadership qualities,” he added.

Highlighting the broader meaning of leadership, Prof Singh said leadership is not limited to politics alone. Whenever someone falls and a hand reaches out to help them stand again, that is also leadership, he remarked.

He also stressed the need to instil patriotism and leadership qualities among students, saying the country needed such values today more than ever.

During the programme, a booklet showcasing the contribution of the NCC and NSS volunteers to the Delhi University Literature Festival was also released. Members and coordinators of the festival registration committee were additionally honoured with certificates of appreciation.
