The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) today appealed to the Supreme Court (SC) to take notice of the statement of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and order a probe into the matter.

Chief of the committee Manjinder Singh Sirsa said the apex court should take note of former PM's revelations on the 1984 Sikh massacre and investigate all cases. Addressing a press conference, Sirsa said the statement by Manmohan Singh had proved that the 1984 massacre was a "slaughter" and not riots. "His statement has proved that the massacre was the work of the Congress and the campaign was being led by then PM Rajiv Gandhi. Of course IK Gujral had requested that the Army be called, but then Home Minister Narasimha Rao did not do so," he said.

"Sonia Gandhi should apologise to the country as her husband was the mastermind behind the massacre and the government did nothing to stop it," said Sirsa. He also appealed to Home Minister Amit Shah to record the conversation between Rajiv and Narasimha Rao. "The conversation between the Prime Minister's Office and the Police Commissioner of Delhi should also be recorded," he said.
