Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL) will participate in a National Lok Adalat on Saturday, January 10, to facilitate on-the-spot settlement of electricity theft and disconnected connections cases in North Delhi. The initiative is being organised in association with the Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA).
The National Lok Adalat will be held from 10 am to 4 pm at PLA-1, Sub-station Building 2/13, Sector-13, Rohini, near Venkateshwar Global School. Tata Power-DDL supplies electricity to nearly nine million consumers across North Delhi.
Pending disputes will be resolved in an amicable manner without prolonged legal proceedings. Consumers can avail the facility by directly attending the proceedings on the day of the event. All litigants are required to carry a valid government-issued photo identity card along with either a theft bill or a bill related to a disconnected electricity connection.
Those who choose not to participate may face criminal or civil proceedings as per the provisions of the Electricity Act, 2003 and Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) regulations.
Consumers will be able to make payments through multiple modes, including demand draft, cheque, credit card, debit card, online payment facilities and cash, Tata Power-DDL said.
