Three held while betting on cricket match
Police seize mobiles, laptops, other devices during raid
GurugramThe police arrested three alleged bookies who were betting on an ongoing T20 cricket match between India and England on Thursday night. An FIR has been registered and police seized 11 mobile phones, three laptops, one LED television, one tablet and a mobile charger from their possession.
Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Kherki Daula police station raided a flat in Ansal Height Society in Sector 81 on Thursday night, where the three were allegedly engaged in betting.
The police apprehended all three, who were identified as Rahul, a resident of Sector 91, Amit of Sector 102, and Paras, also a resident of Sector 91 in Gurugram.
“The accused were betting on an ongoing IPL cricket match between India and England. An FIR has been registered against them under the Gambling Act at Kherki Daula police station,” a spokesperson for the Gurugram police said.
