A 42-year-old woman, Pooja, and her two daughters, aged 8 and 18, were found dead in their southeast Delhi home on Wednesday, bringing to light a tragic tale of love, betrayal, and financial struggles. The bodies were discovered in a decomposed state, and investigations revealed that Pooja had a history of convictions, including the murder of her second husband, Rishipal.

Pooja’s life was marred by turmoil, having been abandoned by her first husband, Santosh, and later falling in love with Aqil while married to Rishipal. She, along with Aqil, her son Vishal, and another accomplice, conspired to murder Rishipal in 2022. The crime was solved, and all four were sent to jail.

After being released on bail, Pooja and Aqil began living together in Badarpur. However, Aqil’s sudden death on February 12 pushed Pooja to the edge. With no financial support and struggling to make ends meet, Pooja took the drastic step of ending her life and that of her two daughters.

DCP (southeast) Ravi Kumar Singh stated that Pooja’s motive for murdering Rishipal was to grab his property and escape her troubled marriage. The investigation highlighted Pooja’s desperate circumstances, which ultimately led to the tragic conclusion.
