Delhi women to get Rs 2,500 per month under Mahila Samriddhi Yojana
Marking International Women’s Day, Union Minister and BJP national president JP Nadda launched the Mahila Samridhi Yojana — a direct cash transfer scheme for women — in Delhi on Saturday. Under this scheme, Rs 2,500 will be provided to women in the national capital.
Addressing a public gathering, Nadda announced, "Today, I am happy, and I congratulate CM Rekha Gupta and others for allocating Rs 5,100 crore to implement the scheme in Delhi."
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva stated, “Rs 5,100 crore has been sanctioned for one year to implement this scheme. Now, we will start registration and the scheme will be implemented.”
The scheme, a key BJP poll promise in the recently concluded Delhi Assembly elections, will soon begin registration for beneficiaries. Newly-elected Delhi CM Rekha Gupta assured the public that her government would fulfil all its promises, particularly those concerning women's security and empowerment. "The only government that approved 33 per cent reservation for women is Narendra Modi's government. We will work for the welfare and security of women. We have also built pink toilets in Delhi," she said.
Nadda credited women for the BJP’s victory in Delhi, saying, "On this day, I salute women empowerment and thank the women for making a huge contribution in forming the BJP government in Delhi. This victory has been possible only with the blessings and support of women."
