Village secy held while accepting Rs 3lakh bribe in Nuh
The village secretary working in Nagina Block and Development Office of Nuh district was caught redhanded by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Gurugram, while taking a bribe of Rs 3 lakh. The accused village secretary had allegedly demanded the bribe in exchange for influencing a decision in favour of a village sarpanch regarding an ongoing investigation.
According to the complaint filed by Zuber, a resident of Ferozpur Jhirka and a computer operator at the Ferozpur Jhirka SDM office, he came into contact with Ramphal, the Sarpanch of Karhera village, whose class VIII marksheet was under investigation. To secure a favourable outcome in the investigation, the sarpanch allegedly sought help from Hasin, the village secretary of Nagina, who demanded a bribe of Rs 3 lakh.
Following the complaint, the ACB set up a trap. As per the plan, Zuber arranged to meet Hasin at his farmhouse on Friday to give the bribe. The ACB team arrested Hasin red-handed while accepting the bribe.
A senior ACB officer confirmed that a case had been registered against the accused at the ACB Gurugram police station. Hasin was produced in Nuh court and taken into one-day police remand.
