The announcement was made during a review meeting chaired by Industries Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa.
The newly formed board will function as an institutional bridge between traders and the government, focusing on welfare, ease of compliance, and business growth. It will also oversee the creation of a dedicated Traders Welfare Fund aimed at ensuring financial and social security for the trading community.
During the meeting with senior officials from the Industries Department and DSIIDC, Sirsa reviewed the progress of several ongoing industrial development projects, including the Freehold Policy, E-waste plant project, and updates on industrial estates such as Patparganj, Baprolla, Ranikhera, and Kanjhawala. Discussions also included preparations for the upcoming Global Industrial Investor Summit.
“The registration of the Delhi Traders Welfare Board marks a significant leap towards institutionalizing welfare measures for trader communities in the national capital,” said Sirsa.
He added, “Under the proactive guidance of Hon’ble CM Rekha Gupta, this initiative reaffirms the government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring ease of doing business, social security, and inclusive economic progress.”
Sirsa also credited the Chief Minister's leadership, “It was her strong resolve that every section contributing to the city’s economy will be empowered and supported. The government is leaving no stone unturned to translate that commitment into results on the ground.”
The board will recommend policy reforms and organize mentoring, advisory, and capacity-building initiatives, including international exposure for traders through participation in global fairs and trade exhibitions.
Officials also presented updates on the Delhi Single Window System, which aims to integrate over 400 business services across 80 categories to enable seamless and paperless governance for enterprises.
He instructed officials to ensure timely completion of the Freehold Policy rollout, industrial zone readiness, and preparations ahead of the Global Industrial Investor Summit, while ensuring transparency and efficiency in all ongoing development works.
