Woman duped of Rs 1.57 lakh in fake government job racket
A woman was allegedly duped of Rs 1.57 lakh under the pretext of securing a government job. The accused also allegedly coerced the woman into a physical relationship and threatened to kill her and her family when she refused. An FIR has been registered at Bajghera police station.
According to the woman’s complaint, she met a man at the Gurugram post office last year, who introduced himself as Surendra Kumar alias Sonu Tantrik, a resident of Sagarpur in Delhi. Sonu claimed to be a devotee of Balaji and said he had helped many young men secure jobs in the post offices of Gurugram and Delhi.
He offered the woman a job at the post office for Rs 3 lakh, with Rs 8,000 to be paid in advance and the rest after securing the job. Sonu later visited Gurugram and asked her to send him the joining letter after receiving the Rs 8,000.
“Sonu called me and told me that he has got the police verification, medical, CGSC card made for me. He claimed that my training will start from November 1 in 2024 in Dwarka. Sonu had shown the documents on WhatsApp and then deleted them later. I had transferred Rs 1.57 lakh in different transactions to Sonu’s account. After that he started demanding Rs 2 lakh and asked me to have a physical relationship. When I refused, he threatened me that he would kill me and also would destroy my family and finally I went to police,” the woman said.
An FIR was registered against Sonu under relevant sections of the IPC at Bajghera police station. A senior police officer confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.
