Woman jumps into well with 3 minors, husband arrested

The Nuh police arrested the husband of a woman who jumped into a well with her three daughters. The incident occurred on March 9 in Badopur village in Nuh district. The police are questioning the accused husband after taking him on remand.

The deceased woman was identified as Sahila (28), wife of Shahid, resident of Badopur village. Her three daughters also perished in this tragic incident. The deceased’s family filed a complaint accusing her in-laws of dowry harassment and mental torture. Based on this, a case of murder was registered at the Ferozpur Jhirka police station.

The team of Ferozpur Jhirka police station made their first arrest in the case on Friday by arresting the woman’s husband, Shahid. Initial interrogation revealed that Shahid had assaulted his wife just a day before the incident. Shahid was a drug addict and was suffering from unemployment and family strife. Due to these domestic disputes and tensions, the woman had committed suicide by jumping into a well with her three minor daughters. However, the family alleges that it was a murder and that the woman was pushed into the well.

“The police team is conducting a thorough investigation into the case and are questioning the accused husband of the deceased woman. We are conducting raids to nab other accused,” added a spokesperson of the Nuh police.
