Women in Faridabad led by Haryana Pradesh Mahila Congress Secretary, Hemlata Sharma, held a unique protest at Neelam Chowk on Saturday.

They carried earthen stoves on their heads and brewed tea using firewood to highlight the plight of homemakers over rising gas cylinder prices.

“Prime Minister Narender Modi promised to provide gas cylinder for Rs 500, but now he has increased the price of cylinders. Women across the country are facing significant difficulties today and the issue should be resolved without any delay,” said Hemlata Sharma.

In response to the protest, Minister of State Krishan Pal Gurjar dismissed the shortage as a “manufactured panic” created by the opposition.

Speaking in Faridabad, Gurjar asserted that the supply of domestic gas remains at pre-war levels and blamed Congress for spreading rumors that encourage hoarding and black marketing. He assured the public that there is adequate availability of LPG and all consumers will continue to get regular supply at their homes as before.
