A 21-year-old youth suffered critical injuries in a road accident at RP Chowk in northwest Delhi’s Pitampura on Sunday morning, the police said.
The injured has been identified as Parth Gambir, a resident of Pitampura. He was rushed to Fortis Hospital in Shalimar Bagh, where he’s undergoing treatment.
The incident occurred around 5:30 am near RP Chowk, opposite GD Goenka School, when a car collided with a mini-truck allegedly being driven recklessly on the wrong side of the road.
A PCR call was received at the Maurya Enclave police station regarding the accident. The police reached the spot and found both vehicles in a damaged condition.
The complainant, Raghav Mathur, who sustained minor injuries in the incident, was taken to Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital for medical examination. The driver of the mini-truck was also admitted to the same hospital.
According to eyewitnesses, the mini-truck was speeding on the wrong side of the road, leaving little time for the car driver to react, which led to the collision. The district crime team inspected the scene and collected evidence as part of the probe. Both vehicles involved in the accident have been impounded.
