A 22-year-old man died while his younger brother suffered serious injuries after a speeding car rammed into their motorcycle in East Delhi’s Krishna Nagar early Monday morning.
The police said they received a PCR call regarding the accident around 4:10 am. A team from the Krishna Nagar police station reached the spot and found a damaged motorcycle, and a red car on the road divider, an official said.
Shahbaaz (22), a resident of Khureji, was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival, while his brother and pillion rider, Sameer (21), is undergoing treatment, the police added.
According to police, the car was being driven by Rishabh (28), a resident of Sangam Vihar. He also sustained injuries and has been admitted to Hedgewar Hospital. Another man who was travelling with Rishabh fled the spot.
During initial inquiry, Sameer told the police that the brothers were returning after attending an acquaintance’s wedding.
The police said a case of rash and negligent driving causing death has been registered.
