A 20-year-old boy was arrested today for raping a minor girl and then uploaded her objectionable pictures on social media in the Narela area, said a police official.

The incident took place in 2017 when the accused, Kunal, became acquainted with 14-year-old girl, a student of Class IX, and took her for a ride and raped her. Kunal's uncle, who was sitting behind in the car, clicked her pictures. Kunal blackmailed the girl on the pretext of uploading her pictures on social media and again raped her, said police sources.

He raped her several times.

The girl discussed the matter with her family. The family has alleged that Kunal has made a fake account in the name of the girl and posted a nude picture of her. Girl’s father said that police didn’t bother to register the compliant and neither helped him.  He said that the boy's father is a known lawyer and threatened his family of getting them wrongly involved in other criminal matter.

The family approached the DCW. A DCW team accompanied the girl at the police station after which the police took the statement of the girl and registered a case under Section 376 of the IPC and the POCSO.
