DMS students win contests

Jalandhar: Students of Dayanand Model Senior Secondary School, Dayanand Nagar, participated in various cultural and literary competitions and won the overall trophy at third position and a cash prize of Rs 21,000. The event was held at CT Institution and Sabhyatech organised it.

In Hindi poem recitation, Saurabh, a class XII student, bagged first prize; in English debate, Gurleen got second prize; in digital poster making, Vansh won second; in 60 Second Science, Rishabh and Gitansh got third prize; in Western Solo song competition, Garisha got first prize and in ghazal singing, Rishab got the third prize. 34th annual prize distribution

Jalandhar: Swami Sant Dass Public School celebrated its 34th annual prize distribution event. The theme of the event was, “Life is not a cup of tea”. Dr Rupinder Singh Sodhi, Managing Director, Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (Amul), was the chief guest of the event. Mahamandaleshwar Swami Shantanand Ji presided over the function. Tiny tots from KG Wing accorded a green welcome to the chief guest. Primary class students through their story narration depicted that children must be well fed as they are the ones who ensure prosperity and wellness of a nation. TNS

12th annual sports meet 

Phagwara: Kamla Nehru Public School celebrated its 12th Annual Sports Meet. The theme for the meet was, “Climate Action for Peace”. The chief guest commenced the meet with the unfurling of the school sports flag. A spectacular and well-synchronised march-past by the NCC, Scouts and Girls Guide and the School Prefectorial Board followed by the melodious music by the school band rendered the spectators awestruck. In all, 1,542 students from nursery to XII collaborated in the Koen Timmers International Climate Action for Peace Project through the sports meet. TNS

BHARAT VIKAS PARISHAD HOLDS QUIZ

Jalandhar: Bharat Vikas Parishad organised a district-level annual event ‘Bharat Ko Jano’ quiz to make students aware of the historical and traditional background of India. Rakshita and Nandini, both class VIII students, from junior group of Shiv Jyoti Public School, brought laurels to the school by bagging first position. Principal Dr Ravi Suta congratulated mentor Manju Soni and appreciated the efforts of the participants. TNS

INDUSTRIAL VISIT to MARKFED AGRO

Jalandhar: An industrial visit was organised for students of the business management and agriculture department of Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions at Markfed Agro, Jalandhar. Harwinder Singh, a Markfed’s official, gave an insight into production facilities such as sagline and honey processing unit, their procurement and supply chain management, budget management and marketing management of Markfed Products to the students. Students learnt about the quality measures taken at Markfed Production Unit. The Industrial visit was coordinated by Dr Gagandeep Kaur and Dr Updesh Khinda under the guidance of Dr Shailesh Tripathi, Group Director, Innocent Hearts Group. TNS
