Drug accused SI’s remand extended

Ludhiana, February 24

A local court today extended the police remand of Sub-Inspector Amandeep Singh Gill, Division 2 police station SHO, by two more days.

Amandeep was arrested along with his driver Ajay for allegedly running a drug racket by the Ludhiana Range of the STF last Tuesday.

The police said questioning of the SI and his driver had not yielded much information about a middleman, Guri, who could provide vital clues about the drug racket run by Amandeep and dismissed Head Constable Balbir Singh.

Ludhiana Range STF incharge Harbans Singh said: “We’ve launched a manhunt to nab Guri. Once we get hold of him, he can lead us to a breakthrough in busting the drug racket and reaching to its roots.” “Meanwhile, the STF is looking into bank details, property and other assets of the arrested SI.” — OC
