The CIA 3 wing of the Ludhiana police has nabbed a drug peddler and a mobile thief, and recovered drugs and stolen mobile phones from them.
The CIA nabbed a drug peddler and recovered 500 gram of ganja from his possession. He has been identified as Pyaru Haq, a resident of Bihar.
Yashpal Sharma, chief of CIA 3, in a statement issued here today, said acting on secret information, they set up a naka at Partap Chowk. The suspect was stopped for checking. A search of his belongings yielded the ganja.
During questioning, Pyaru admitted that he had been into the notorious trade for a long time and had come especially from Bihar to supply the contraband to his clients. Earlier also, he had brought drugs here.
Sharma said they would seek his police remand from the court to bust the entire supply line.
In another case, the CIA nabbed one mobile thief and recovered two stolen mobile phones from his possession. The suspect has been identified as Ranbir Singh Kala of Anandpur, Sahnewal. The police said he was arrested at a routine naka in Daad village.
Ranbir told the police that he had stolen one mobile phone from Chandigarh Road and another from a factory in Dhandari.
