Class X results: Out of 14 top positions, girls get 9 slots

DHARAMSALA: Girls outshone boys in the Class X results declared by the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBSE) here today.

Girls outshone boys in the Class X results declared by the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBSE) here today. Out of 14 toppers declared by the board, nine positions were bagged by girls. Girls also bagged the top six positions.

Urvashi of Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Ghumarwin, in Bilaspur district topped scoring 99.14 per cent marks. Palak Sharma of the school remained second with 98.57 per cent.

The other toppers include Amol Sharma of King Gorge Royal Public School, Nek Chowk in Mandi, scoring 98.29 per cent, Swati Rana of Little Flower Public School, Durana, in Kangra, scoring 98 per mcent marks, Arundhati of The New Era School of Sciences, Chhatri in Kangra, with 97.66 per cent marks, Divya of Senior Secondary Model Institute of Education, Devdhar Tihra, in Mandi, scoring 97.71 per cent, Sahil Dhiman of Greatway Public Senior Secondary School Sujjal (Raja Ka Talab) in Kangra 97.57 per cent marks, Tamanna Sharma of Career Academy Senior Sec School Nahan in Sirmour and Vinay Thakur of Snower Valley Public School Bajaura in Kullu got 97.43 per cent each, Tannu Sharma of Bumboo Public School in Hamirpur district, Aman Garg of SD Public Senior Secondary School, Santokhgarh in Una district, Priya Mahajan of Himachal Public School, Jhandutta in Bilaspur, and Prashant Sharma of Snower Public School, Bajaura in Kullu, got 97.29 per cent marks and Manish Rana of The New Era School of Sciences in Chaatri in Kangra 97.14 per cent marks.

The spokesperson for the board said the total pass percentage in the Class X examination remained at 65.26 per cent.

Young achiever 

Shimla: A twelve-and-a-half-year-old Naitik Sunta is among the youngest to  have cleared matric exams today. Naitik, who has many awards, became a matriculate as he scored 77 per cent. He is a student of local Government Senior Secondary School, Sanjauli. “He plans to take arts stream to achieve his ambition of becoming an IAS officer,” the proud parents Sanjeev and Sunita say. — TNS
