A rashly driven Hyundai Eon car ran over Ram Daras (70) on the night of February 21 while he was crossing the road from the Pringle Hosiery side towards Kali Sarak. He died on the spot.
According to Dharam Raj, a resident of New Anandpuri on Kali Sarak, his grandfather Ram Daras was returning home after paying the rent of his shop when a speeding car hit him. He died on the spot, said the complainant.
The police have arrested the car driver, identified as Manoj Sehgal, a resident of Ram Nagar in Ambala district of Haryana, under sections 279/337/304-A of the IPC.
