The Class X English examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) today was a relief for students. They said they had high hopes from the exam as questions were straightforward and easy.

Anureet Kaur, a Class X student of Cambridge International School here, who was spotted at Centre Apeejay School, said, “The paper was simple with direct questions. The writing section was time-consuming and choices were bit okay. All in all, it was a good paper, and I have confidence that I will score close to 90 marks,” she said.

“I guess it was for the first time that the English paper was finished before time. I still remember that last year, our seniors complained of a lengthy paper and many missed a few of the questions. However, we were lucky this time and both literature and writing sections were easy and completed well in time,” said Bhavna, another student.

A student of MGN Public School, Himanshi, said the paper was not difficult but average. “I think almost everyone had a good exam today as questions were not that tricky. I am expecting above 80 marks and sure that the exam will help many score an overall good percentile,” she said, adding that she preferred self-study for the English exam.

Meanwhile, Rachna Monga, Principal, KMV School, said it was a good paper for high scorers and average students, while those who were below-average level were disappointed as choices in the questions were typical and the last two-three questions were from toughest chapters.
